Musings from a higher level

Summer’s end is almost here.  The nights are becoming crisp and quiet.  The days strive to reach the heat of July, but don’t quite get there.  But that’s all right with me.  I am so ready to usher in the fall searson.  To wear a cozy sweater and jeans, to watch the marching band at the high school football games, and to snuggle close on chilly nights.  I may be a little too optimistic about the upcoming months  due to my recent ascent into an aged sugar maple.  That is all.

There are many parts of our lives that God allows but He does not nseicsarely approve. This is due to the presence of sin in the world. All things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything. (1 Corinthians 6:12)All things are lawful, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful, but not all things edify. (1 Corinthians 10:23)Polygamy was within the Law, but it was not part of the plan originally. We were created to only share our heart with one other (spouse) but because of the desires of man, Adonai in His mercy allowed for a man to take more than one wife, but the relationships were much more strict than a normal marriage, again because of our sinful nature. Each example of polygamy within Scripture displays the folly of this lifestyle and the warnings against choosing this should be headed.
